The program is part of the European initiative Data Governance in Africa. The objective of AI 4 Startups is to facilitate the access to AI models for African startups and the innovation ecosystem by organising hackathons, bringing together data scientists from across the continent. More precisely, Digital Africa will be organising 8 hackathons between November 2024 and February 2026, 6 of which will be exclusively online. These 6 online hackathons will aim to produce AI models to answer the challenge identified before with the startups.
