Description

Galway City Council ( main lead) wishes to establish a Multiparty framework for the installation of a Data Management System for 5 Local Authorities to include, Donegal County Council, Galway City Council, Galway County Council, Mayo County Council, and Sligo County Council. The Regional Energy Bureau is tasked with supporting the Local Authorities to implement ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems (EnMS). The energy planning process described in ISO 50001 clearly illustrates the extent and importance of information flows in the EnMS. The crucial energy data must be collected from the point of use and provided to a central Data Management System (DMS). Monitoring, analysis and reporting of energy use is currently an onerous and largely manual process due to the high number of manual data collection points and use of multiple reporting methods. This current system and process of reporting and billing poses a high risk of error and does not effectively support a robust energy planning process.
