Description

The purpose of the contract is to establish a reliable ecological assessment system of water quality for Türkiye considering ecoregions in line with Water Framework Directive and by making use of EU experience and Intercalibration process. - Type-specific reference conditions will be determined by using of existing monitoring data from reference sites or other relevant methods stated in WFD and reference monitoring network will be revised. - National biological indices for each Biological Quality Element (BQE) will be adapted/developed, hydromorphological indices will be reviewed (rivers and lakes) and developed (transitional and coastal waters) and type specific class boundary values of indices will be determined. - Staff capacity of the end recipient will be increased by training activities in the context of the project.
