Description

The University of Limerick are looking to purchase up to 80 ebikes, GPS trackers, and some equipment for the Inclusive Sustainable Cycling 2 (ISCycle2), Widening Equity in Ebike Use project, which will see approximately 40 bikes loaned to each of parents with children attending DEIS primary schools, and older adults (65+) in lower income areas. We are thus seeking a mix of bike types suitable for each of these groups. That is, we are seeking bikes that are capable of taking young passengers for parents, and we are looking for bikes with deep step-throughs, trikes, and lower weight folding bikes. Because of the focus on lower income participants, we are aiming to buy bikes at a price point that might be realistic for these population groups, and mindful that they may not have the same storage options if they are living in an apartment, duplex or mid-terrace.
