SOL - Housing Support for Vulnerable Households 2025

Description

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council recognises the need to prevent homelessness at a much earlier stage and that households may require additional support to manage their accommodation effectively in order to prevent homelessness. The 'Housing Related Support for Vulnerable Households' service will support the Council to reduce the number of households becoming homeless and help households avoid repeat cycles of homelessness. Solihull's Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy (2024-2029) has identified several priority areas as core issues affecting homelessness in Solihull, this includes mental health, addictions and insecure accommodation. The priorities also align with our principles as set out in the Strategy; supporting a partnership approach, promoting prevention of homelessness, being intelligence and data led and seeking to improve life chances and health outcomes. The newly commissioned service's key aim will be to provide housing related support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness or those struggling to maintain their current housing.
