Description
Seaton Valley Council is undertaking a strategic transition from traditional annual bedding schemes to perennial, sustainable planting across its public spaces. This initiative aims to: - Enhance long-term value by reducing the need for seasonal replanting & associated costs. - Support biodiversity through pollinator-friendly species and varied planting structures. - Reduce waste by minimising plant turnover and promoting compostable materials. - Improve climate resilience with drought-tolerant, low-maintenance species adapted to changing conditions. The new planting approach will prioritise native and perennial species, eco-conscious maintenance practices, and multi-sensory designs that evolve naturally throughout the seasons. Contractors and suppliers are encouraged to align proposals with these sustainability goals and demonstrate innovation in ecological landscaping. All materials must be of high quality and suitable for public display. Submissions will be scored based on (not in priority order): Price: Overall cost-effectiveness, including value for money and transparency of pricing.
