Description
Network Rail has a requirement for the operation of a 24/7 road haulage service to manage the collection, haulage and delivery (including loading and offloading) of materials by road. Network Rail also has the requirement for warehousing management. The purpose of this exercise is to engage the market, to gather information and understand aspects of potential best practice to inform Network Rail's Tender process including developing a specification and pricing model. The key objectives of this activity are to: 1. Understand areas of efficiency and best practice to refine and inform Network Rail’s requirement to tender Road Haulage and Warehousing activities. 2. Understand the level of interest from the supply chain for the upcoming tender activity. 3. Allow the supply chain to have a view of Network Rail’s specification and invite any questions or suggestions for improvements. 4. Allow suppliers to visit one of our Regional Distribution Centres to provide clarity of the operation to enable the best tender responses.
