Description
London Underground (LU) is seeking to procure train gauging measurement systems to measure the following aspects of it's Rolling Stock: • Thermal imaging - to identify issues with overheating components including but not limited to; brake resistors, bearings, traction equipment, HVAC, brake blocks, wheel pans, bearings, traction motors, gearboxes etc. • Video imaging - to identify issues with out of gauge elements on the rolling stock including but not limited to; graffiti, broken windows, missing / misaligned equipment cover panels, missing / damaged collector shoes (both 3rd and 4th rail shoe gear), damage to under frame equipment e.g. from ballast strike or striking from foreign objects etc. The imaging capability should cover both sides of the vehicle, under frame and roof, and identify the individual vehicle by unit number(s). It is expected to trial the equipment at 2 locations for a period of between 6 - 12 months and the equipment shall work for multiple unit and single unit train configurations.
