Description
NHS England (NHSE - the Authority) will be commencing a Market Engagement for Population Health Fellowship development to an accredited qualification alongside the delivery of this learning programme. A multi-professional Population Health Fellowship (PHF) was established in February 2020 and has successfully delivered three cohorts of 80 fellows with the fourth cohort of 28 fellows having commenced in September 2023. The fellowship provides healthcare professionals with a 12-month 2 days per week learning programme designed to enhance their population health skills to support Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) to deliver their objectives in improving the health of their populations and to reduce health inequalities. The NHS Long Term Workforce Plan commits to an expansion of the PHF to have a fellow working in every ICS to support the development of local expertise in population health and prevention.
