Description
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) have a requirement to hire equipment, both on a pre-planned and an emergency basis to support mobile collection sessions across the whole of England. This includes supplementary heating, lighting, and cooling equipment. NHSBT is responsible for collecting sufficient blood products to meet the demand of all hospitals. NHSBT’s vision is to save and improve lives by continually striving to improve the safety, availability, quality, and efficiency of our services. To meet these demands, NHSBT operates approximately 50 mobile collection teams, who collect blood products every day of the week. For this, NHSBT hire local community venues across England ranging from small village halls to sports centre halls. The venue set up, and processes, used are required by law to comply with Blood, Safety and Quality Regulations to ensure the safety of donors and patients. The venue, and all equipment (including hired equipment) used within it, may therefore be subject to external regulatory inspection at any time.
