Description
Renfrewshire Council is planning to issue a tender for two contracts: 1. The first Contract will be for the construction of 1.4km of shared footway and cycleway from the end of the existing shared footway/cycleway on Greenock Road, round Red Smiddy Roundabout, north onto Southbar Road to Southholm Roundabout. There is an existing footway at Red Smiddy Roundabout which is widened, and new construction on Southbar Road. In places the existing carriageway is widened. 2. The second Contract will be for the construction of 0.616km of shared footway and cycleway from Southholm Roundabout to the overbridge on the A726 on the northbound verge. This will include the relocation of street lighting columns, road signs and installation of new drainage. The works will involve the construction of a ramp to create a connection to the existing footway overbridge over the A726. All information relevant to this project will be included in the Invitation to Tender. The Council plans to award both contracts for this project to one Contractor.
