Description
Joint contracting Authorities, National Transport Authority and Transport Infrastructure Ireland. Luas is Dublin's light rail system and consists of two separate lines, the Red Line and the Green Line. The system comprises 42.5 kilometers of track, three maintenance depots, 67 stops and a fleet of 81 light rail vehicles. Luas carried 48.2 million passenger journeys in 2023. Further expansion of the system is anticipated. A more detailed description of the Luas system is given in Appendix A of the IMPQQ Document. It is anticipated that the Luas Operations and Maintenance Contract will commence operations in Quarter 2 or 3, 2026 for a period of seven years from full operational commencement, with an option to extend by up to a further five to seven years. There will be a mobilisation/transition period from the date of contract signing until the operating commencement date. The scope of the Luas Operations and Maintenance Contract will include operation of public passenger services, rolling stock maintenance, infrastructure maintenance (depots, track, etc.) and management and operation of Luas Park and Ride sites.
