Description
The objective of this contract is to improve resilient and climate-proof road asset management, corridor efficiency and multimodal logistics in Africa. It will aim at (i) promoting the importance of road maintenance and support the mainstreaming of climate resilient practices into road asset management systems, (ii) improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the road management and financing institutions, (iii) strengthen rural transport infrastructure and services, as well as the delivery systems to promote inclusive employment are strengthened and (iv) strengthen the capacity of road sector institutions/associations at local, national and continental level in Africa. This contract will constitute the 4th pillar of the Africa Transport Policy Program’s Fourth Development Plan (2021-2026). It will be implemented under the technical oversight of the World Bank’s DP4 management team. SSATP is the main source of evidence-based policies for addressing Africa’s unique transport challenges.
