Description

The research project “Side-channel attacks with quantum sensing” (SCA-QS) aims to identify potential new attack vectors on microchips using quantum sensors. Quantum sensors (QS) have the potential of measuring physical parameters with higher resolution, sensitivity or otherwise better. Therefore, the suitability of different physical quantum sensor approaches for side channel attacks (SCA) on microchips will be evaluated, and compared to an analysis of the same chips with current SCA methods. The project will initially focus on identifying and researching the fundamental suitability of quantum sensors for side-channel attacks, and subsequently develop promising approaches. The targeted technology readiness level at the end of the project is 3 to 4, depending on the technology.
