Gradska uspinjača Zagreb nalazi se na području sustava zaštite „A“, unutar Povijesne urbane cjeline Grada Zagreba. Uspinjača je zaštićeno kulturno dobro i upisana je u Registar kulturnih dobara Republike Hrvatske, Listu zaštićenih kulturnih dobara pod brojem Z-1525 te sukladno odredbama Zakona o zaštiti i očuvanju kulturnih dobara, zahvati na uspinjači mogu se poduzimati samo uz posebne uvjete i prethodno odobrenje Gradskog zavoda za zaštitu spomenika kulture i prirode i sukladno Pravilniku o uvjetima za dobivanje dopuštenja za obavljanje poslova na zaštiti i očuvanju kulturnih dobara (NN 98/18)...
