Description
SLU has the intention to purchase a novel high-throughput phenotyping platform- The PlantArray system, offered by Plant-Ditech www.plant-ditech.com SLU has found that the PlantArray phenotyping platform is based on a unique technology, covered by patents. PlantArray controllers replace the old technology of data loggers. The special controllers and setup enable the direct and precise measurements of the plant water balance (WUE, transpiration, stomatal conductance, root influx) and the biomass gain that are determined for the whole plant, including root and shoot, makes it possible to calculate the physiological profile of the plants and their response to the dynamic environment. The linear correlation between stomatal conductance and perspiration (water use, H2O) to plant productivity (CO2 assimilation), which indicates the plant performance in high correlation with yield results.
