Description

Gene Expression Profiling (GEP) tests are intended to provide information on disease prognosis and some may also be able to identify the patients who are most likely to benefit from chemotherapy. In this way they support clinical decision-making regarding a patient’s need for adjuvant chemotherapy. This test is used to inform decision-making in relation to the management of early-stage invasive breast cancer. The Oncotype Dx has been contracted for use in Ireland since 2011.
