La Poste dispose d'un parc de Mobiliers Urbain Postal (MUP) constitué de Boîtes aux Lettres (BAL) et de coffres relais. Ce parc est déployé sur l'ensemble du territoire français et permet au grand public d'y déposer leurs courriers à expédier. La Poste assure au quotidien, 6 jours sur 7, un service de collecte du contenu de ces BAL et de stockage en cours de tournée dans les coffres relais. La Poste a défini un besoin d'équipements et de prestations de services associés à la fourniture et l'installation de serrures numériques sur les MUP.
