Description

The Phase 2 project will include the design and construction of all works required (except for the Phase 1 Project works) to provide flood relief for Enniscorthy Town. The previous scheme, which was refused in 2022, incorporated a mix of physical flood barriers, dredging and other in river works. However, in considering options for Phase 2 going forward, the consultant will be required to consider these solutions along with careful consideration of upstream catchment management, upstream flood storage/attenuation potential, retreat/relocation, any other potential solutions and any combination of the foregoing. The appointment from this competition will be for all Stages I to V. All existing background information and data will first need to be reviewed prior to commencing into Stage I proper. The scheme will require Environmental Assessment and Stage 2 Appropriate Assessment. Application for statutory consents will be to Maritime Area Regulatory Authority (MARA) for a Marine Area Consent (MAC) and An Coimisiun Pleanala (ACP) for approval.
