Description

The objective of this Request for Tender is to identify a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to carry out the necessary analysis and prepare an Energy Master Plan for the Parish of 1 Piercestown, County Wexford (Sustainable Energy Community: SEC). The Murrintown SEC includes the rural villages of Murrintown and Piercestown and the surrounding hinterland which collectively constitutes the Parish of Piercestown. The SEC area is located a few kilometres south of Wexford Town and has a population of2,028 people based on the 2022 census. There are a number of public sector organisations located in the Johnstown Castle Estate but we have excluded them from this study. This SEC is part of the SEAi network across Ireland which is designed to enable a better understanding of how communities use energy and how they can save energy across all sectors. The Network's core purpose is to catalyse and support a national movement of SECs operating in every part of the country.
