Sametingets verksamhet är i behov av ett nytt funktionellt, driftsäkert och användarvänligt IT-stöd/system för hela dokument- och ärendehanteringsprocessen från diarieföring till expediering och arkivering. Systemet ska förenkla administrationen för myndighetens anställda. På sikt ska systemet vara den samlade ytan för flertalet av myndighetens ärenden. Systemet ska kunna integreras med andra system inom myndigheten där verksamhetsspecifika ärenden utanför systemet hanteras och/eller diarieförs.
