Description
The Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland are seeking Structural Engineering Consultancy Services in respect of the construction of a new Visitor Facility at 8-9 Moore Lane, Dublin 1. The building will represent a second element of the development at the 14/17 Moore St site, the first part comprising of the conservation of the legacy buildings fronting onto Moore St. which are of significant historic interest. The Phase 1 element of the project is being dealt with separately and, though closely related, does not form part of the commission currently on offer. The proposed development comprises a new two-storey over (existing) basement building at 8/9 Moore Lane Dublin 1, a site which abuts the rere of the buildings at 14/17 Moore St and which itself falls within the boundary of the designated National Monument at that location. The houses at 14/17 Moore St are of particular historic significance because of their role in the 1916 Rising and which are, in service to the conclusions of the Moore St Advisory Group, a consultation process created by the Government to advise on the way forward for the site, being conserved and opened to the public as a visitor attraction.
