L'assurance est de type "tous risques sauf", autrement dit les bâtiments sont assurés contre tous les risques sauf ceux explicitement exclus dans le contrat. 12 lots sont proposés pour le présent marché ( 6 lots assurance incendie et 6 lots assurance terrorisme) . Les lots 1 à 4 couvrent la totalité du parc immobilier de la Commission et des Agences (participation sous la couverture d’un SLA) et ont été établis approximativement de manière équitable en termes de surfaces (m²). Le lot 5 couvre le parc immobilier du Conseil de l’Union européenne et le lot 6 couvre le parc immobilier des autres institutions, agences et organes intéressés de participer au présent marché. Les lots 7 à 12 , le volet « Assurance terrorisme » couvre le parc immobilier pour les pouvoirs adjudicateurs participants aux lots 1-2-3-4-5-6.
