Beskrivelse
BACKGROUND: The objective of the of the 3rd phase of the Danish Gulf of Guinea Maritime Security Programme (DMSP III) is to enhance maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea through more capable maritime and law enforcement institutions at national and regional levels. The programme is funded from the Danish Peace and Stabilization Fund. The programme covers Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast and Cameroon and is comprised of four engagements, of which three are focused on enhancing the capacity of civilian maritime law enforcement agencies and one is focused on enhancing naval capabilities. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Danish Ministry of Defence, seek to undertake a mid-term review of the DMSP III to assess progress in the four ongoing engagements. The MTR will review the engagements within the context of Danish efforts to enhance maritime security through more capable regional and national maritime- and law enforcement institutions.
