Beschreibung
The ProForêt project aims to establish the key conditions necessary to enable the promotion and effective implementation of the reforestation and agroforestry measures by the private sector, local authorities and civil society in rural areas. Its capacity-development strategy involves a multi-level and multi-actors' approach. The strategy relies on the economic, regulatory and institutional conditions as well as the professional and technical skills of its target groups at national, regional and local levels. The project envisages, on one hand, the development and introduction of profitable (agro)forestry value chains (VCs) and other hand, strengthening cooperation between public and private stakeholders. In addition, the project also plans to improve the legal framework and support the implementation of incentive mechanisms to promote private investment initiatives in forestry and agroforestry. Furthermore, to ensure quality, compliance and sustainability, the project intends to strengthen capacity of ministry MINEF decentralised services unity, as trainers, advisors and supervisors to support foresters and civil society groups in the development of forestry activities.
