TenneT is a leading electricity transmission system operator (TSO), headquartered in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and Bayreuth, Germany. TenneT manages over 24,500 kilometers of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage transmission lines, delivering reliable electricity to approximately 42 million end-users across the Netherlands and Germany. The grid of tomorrow will depend not only on new connections, both onshore and offshore, but also on enhanced performance from existing systems under heavier loads. To meet these challenges, TenneT is launching a tender to implement advanced cable monitoring systems. These systems will offer critical insights into the performance and resilience of the grid’s lifelines — its cables — ensuring optimal operation as Europe transitions to a more sustainable energy future.
