Description
Yo! Active is City of Wolverhampton Council Public Health initiative that removes cost as a barrier to participation and provides community-based physical activity opportunities for children and young people across Wolverhampton. The programme sits within the broader Yo! Wolves young opportunities offer and is designed to increase regular physical activity, improve health outcomes, and reduce inequalities by placing provision in accessible community settings and WV Active sites. The primary objective of Yo! Active is to increase activity levels among children and young people while building skills, confidence, and social connections; the programme also aims to develop leadership and peer‑mentoring pathways so participants can progress into volunteer, youth‑worker or youth‑advisory roles. The programme targets residents aged 0-18 as the main cohort with extended eligibility up to age 25 for care leavers and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
