Description
The University of Sussex (“Sussex”) is inviting expressions of interest for its upcoming tender for Student Milling Machines. The purpose of this engagement is for Sussex to gauge potential interest and obtain information from the market which will help inform and shape its requirements. Through this process suppliers can provide feedback on certain aspects of the requirement. This exercise aims to uncover opportunities and explore new ways of working for Sussex. We are eager to avoid inadvertently limiting potentially beneficial arrangement or excluding potentially viable solutions. The School of Engineering and Informatics is preparing for the delivery the Degree Apprenticeship MSc in Advanced Manufacturing. The existing workshop contains some obsolete machinery and outdated equipment. It is not configured for teaching. The proposal is to remove all redundant machines and equipment, fully refurbish and install new data driven metal fabrication equipment in the existing workshop. A revised layout of the space will provide a new teaching environment. The current proposal plans to have the refurbishment complete by April 2025 but this timeline is currently still subject to approval …
