Description
Bedford College is seeking a fixed price design & build tender to carryout roofing and related works at Shuttleworth College. The campus comprises of a series of specialist teaching facilities; support buildings and two student residential blocks [Halls of Residence (HoR)]. The tender shall exclude principal contractor duties [performed by another contractor directly appointed by Bedford College] and the provision of site welfare. Set out below are the works that form this tender. 1. Provide stage RIBA 5/6 roof design services. 2. Install access scaffolding; safety handrails and load out platforms to support the roofing works. 3. Strip off existing roof covering and insulation. [See Table A below]. 4. Remove all waste from site. See below the packages not forming part of the tender are as follows: Pipework; heater emitters and new plant room across the whole campus. Internal refurbishment of two residential blocks & common room [the company carrying out these works will be appointed Principal Contractor] It should be note that there are likely to be at least three other companies on site during these works.
