Description
NHS England has published this Prior Information Notice (PIN) in relation to securing a supplier to provide the provision of a unique surgical training opportunity for specialty doctors in training in the north east region. Designed to provide simulation and frozen cadaver-based surgical skills training and assessment to doctors in training to support the attainment of their curriculum requirements. “Simulation training is an important aspect of training in a wide range of specialties at a variety of different stages. It is an important component of supported return to training and of step up training. Simulation training enables doctors to acquire surgical skills rapidly in a safe environment where patients are not put at risk. We need to ensure we have continued provision of a unique surgical skills training for specialty doctors in training in the north east region. Training must be delivered in person and must cover delivery of a programme designed to provide simulation and frozen cadaver-based skills training and assessment to doctors in training and to support the attainment of their curriculum requirements.
