Description
The purpose of this Prior Information Notice is to notify the market of Belfast City Council’s intention to hold a pre-market engagement event with interested suppliers to provide information on the PEACEPLUS Employability – Language Up Belfast Programme. The aim of the programme is to deliver a structured programme that combines vocationally oriented language learning with practical aspects of living and working in Belfast for individuals whose first language is not English. Language Up Belfast will provide opportunities for people from minority ethnic communities to develop the necessary citizenship, language and employability skills which allow them to contribute to the local economy and share in Belfast’s success. This project contributes to the implementation of the Thriving and Peaceful Communities theme under the Belfast PEACEPLUS Local Community Action Plan. Thriving and peaceful communities are defined as people with high levels of individual wellbeing; who manage strong relationships and connections; and are empowered to lead targeted and transformative programmes.
