Description
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Market Engagement Notice – July 2025 Reusable Sterile Theatre Textiles 1. Purpose and Scope King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (The Authority) are initiating this Market Engagement Notice to improve their understanding of the market for reusable sterile theatre textiles. The Authority kindly requests that bidders respond to the questions outlined below and resubmit their completed responses in Word format. The Authority has made ambitious commitments to providing environmentally sustainable healthcare (see King’s College Hospital’s Green Plan). This includes commitments to reduce single-use items, across clinical and non-clinical practices. In line with this commitment, the Authority is now assessing how to move away from single-use to a fully circular sterile theatre textiles model. In addition to significant reductions in carbon emissions, the Authority expects this change to lead to reduced waste volumes, increased product quality, improvements in supply chain resilience as well as wider social value benefits.
