Description
We would like to replace the shelving and furniture in the children's library at the Central Library to create a vibrant and welcoming space for families and children from birth to 15 years of age. The following is a list of requirements: Functional specification The system will be a modular system designed to offer maximum design freedom -mobile units with connecting fillets for directional changes and creating defined physical spaces. The library currently holds approximately 20,000 items which include both hardback and paperback books, picture/board books and easy readers. Books displays are also desirable. The area has a ramp that runs through the middle of the room with a counter at the end. Although we cannot move the ramp, we are planning on removing the counter- so please quote for a smaller counter in a new position to maximise space. It would also be desirable if graphics could be used both on the end of books shelves and on the large back wall above the shelving. A table and chairs to help children to play/study and a Upholstered story telling chair and rug is also required.
