Description
Coventry City Council (CCC) is re-commissioning its block contract for the provision of Supported Accommodation and Floating Support services for young people aged 16-24, including Children in Care (CiC), Care Leavers, and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). This service is mandated under several key legislative frameworks: • Children Act 1989 (as amended) • Children Act 2004 • Children and Social Work Act 2017 • Southwark Judgement (2009) • Homelessness Reduction Act 2018 As of October 2023, Supported Accommodation is regulated by Ofsted. Providers must: • Be registered or in the process of registering with Ofsted. • Comply with The Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and any future amendments. Young people's needs are categorized into six groups: 1. Low support needs - minimal supervision and guidance. 2. Complex needs - intensive, specialist support (e.g., mental health, 24/7 care). 3. Mild learning disabilities - enhanced support for daily living and learning. 4. UASC - support with language, cultural integration, and life skills. 5.
