Description

Project Aims The Maldives is home to a rich environment, and biodiversity supports over 90% of Maldives GDP. However, the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy often struggles to fill job vacancies, and Maldives National University often doesn't have interest in their environmental courses. This contract focuses on the development of a series of case studies mapping career pathways in the environmental sector in Maldives. The aim is to raise awareness of jobs in the environmental and marine sector in Maldives to encourage students to study environmental courses at Maldives National University. This in turn, aims to then support interest in suitably qualified staff applying for jobs in the sector across the country. The main deliverable would be a digital leaflet providing the career case studies, focused on 8 job examples. Two versions of the leaflet will be provided, one in English and one in Dhivehi. 3. Project Background The Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) has been working in partnership with the Government of Maldives to explore opportunities to support effective management of their marine environment.
