Description
Warwickshire County Council (the Council) is undertaking market engagement with Suppliers to gain a better understanding of the market available for the management of garden waste arising from Warwickshire Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). Information gathered from this market testing exercise will inform the procurement strategy and contract design including the specification, ensuring the Council achieves its objectives and best value for money. The Council has nine HWRC's located across the County, receiving in excess of 1.5 million visits every year. Site usage is typically highest at weekends, bank holiday's, throughout holiday periods, including Easter, and during summer months. Eight of the HWRC's are operated by the Council and there is currently one contract in place for the management of garden waste from these HWRC's. Judkins HWRC is not currently in scope. The current contract includes the following services: • Container provision • Collection and haulage • Composting This contract expires on the 30th April 2027.
