Description

The Holmfirth Town Centre Action Plan (HTCAP) is part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority Corridor Improvement Programme (CIP). The HTCAP scheme will deliver a package of measures to address the causes of vehicle-based congestion in Holmfirth town centre, reducing congestion and improving reliability and journey times. This will be achieved by making proposed improvements to the traffic signals, pedestrian crossing arrangements and relocating on-street parking from conflict areas. At the same time, the scheme will support the proposed development sites allocated in the Local Plan. The proposals will also ease congestion in the town centre, as well as improving journey times, access, and safety for pedestrians and cyclists in the area. These proposals include demolishing the former market hall building and extending the adjacent Huddersfield Road car park.
