Description
Education and Training Light Touch Regime. NHS England seeks to commission regulatory training for AHP practitioners under the Education and Training Light Touch Regime. ACT 008 of the Long-Term Work Force Plan is to Enhance the scope and reach of Allied Health Professions (AHPs) roles. There are currently fourteen registerable titles for Allied Health Professions (AHPs). The fourteen allied health professions: • Art therapists • Dietitians • Drama therapists • Music therapists • Occupational therapists • Operating department practitioners • Orthoptists • Osteopaths • Paramedics • Physiotherapists • Podiatrists • Prosthetists and orthotists • Radiographers • Speech and language therapists In order to realise the full potential of Allied Health Professionals, they need to use their full scope of practise. Guidance and training from the regulatory body will provide not only support in implementations but permission for scope optimization within safe and effective regulatory brown boundaries.
