Description
This project combines 2 elements: a) An electric bike share scheme/network. This is defined by having the ability to pick up and drop off bikes at more than one location. There should be a minimum of two locations. b) a bike loan/ library scheme. This is defined as a service which provides longer term access to bikes without the need to buy them. Bidders have the opportunity to bid for one, or both elements; however, if a supplier bids for only one element, they will have to subcontract the other element. UDC would like one supplier with a potential subcontractor if needed. Suppliers may also engage local bike shops to support their delivery plan. For both schemes, the bidder will be required to provide a cost effective, flexible, high quality and value for money bike share scheme to be run in Saffron Walden to increase sustainable travel. a)Electric bike share scheme The equipment supplied will need to be 'electrically assisted pedal cycles' (EAPCs). a.Location(s) and number will be determined by the operator in conjunction with UDC.
