Description

Rother District Council are looking to appoint an architect as lead designer for the renovation and regenreation of the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill, East Sussex. The lead designer will be responsible for: - Conservation works to address all areas of deterioration identified in the condition and structural reports, and surveys. - Building fabric works to improve long term maintenance of the Pavilion. - Development of new environmental systems, working towards net carbon ambitions and to reduce running costs. - Provision of improved access into and around the building for artists and audiences - Repairs and restoration to the South Staircase window, also addressing wider issues with metalwork and windows throughout the site. - Building fabric repairs to the flat roof to address water ingress and resultant corrosion. - Conservation of the entrance canopy, which suffers differential movement at the expansion joint. - Review of external signage, which often suffers breakages. - Restoration of the auditorium. - Providing ancillary services to the auditorium, including cloakroom, WCs and bars. - Upgrading backstage facilities to the auditorium, which are currently inadeq…
