Description
Hampshire County Council's School Transport service have procured a digital bus pass solution via a competitive quotation process. The aims and objectives of the service are to: - To ensure Hampshire County Council meets its statutory obligations to provide transport to eligible children on the vehicle that they have been assigned. -Enable monitoring of usage of vehicles and to ensure that vehicles are not overloaded or underutilised. - Improve the accuracy and timeliness of the data held by HCC on pupils accessing vehicles. -Ensuring the data that the Council has on its pupils accessing services, is up to date. - Improve the process, and reduce costs, for issuing bus passes by moving from hard copy bus passes to a predominantly digital solution. -To work with a supplier that will support the implementation of an innovative solution to generate efficiencies and support the rollout to transport operators in line with the requirements detailed in the specification. -Support the Council's environmental priorities by reducing the need to print and post paper bus passes to the addresses of eligible pupils and schools.
