Description
THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION Soft Market Test for Dementia Support Service at the Dementia Resource Centre. Background: The DRC was first commissioned by PCC on 2nd February 2014. The service is currently provided by a single provider who delivers a specialist service supporting people living with Dementia and their carers and families, it provides expertise in Dementia as a resource for Council Officers and professionals across the city and contributes to the development of Peterborough as a Dementia friendly city. The aim is to help people to improve the quality of life of people living with Dementia and their carers, supporting them to live at home and independently in their own communities for as long as is possible and to prevent avoidable escalation of need. Currently the following activities for the core offer at the DRC: - Information, advice and guidance pre-and post-diagnosis - a 'one-stop shop' for Dementia. - A range of activities that are attractive to different groups and complement one another. - Activities that stimulate cognition. - Providing activities that meet the changing needs of service users at different stages of the disease. - Drop in facilities over…
