Description

Contractor Involvement (ECI) for the A38 Deep Lane Pedestrian Cycle Bridge, using Hampshire County Council's GEN5-2 Framework, for a 2-stage approach. The approach is NEC Option E for Stage 1 ECI and NEC Option A for Stage 2 Construction. A38 Deep Lane Pedestrian Cycle Bridge is the highway infrastructure design and construction works, for a cycle bridge over the A38, connecting into existing highway infrastructure. Interactions with National Highways, Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council and private developers and land owners is required. The preferred bidder will take on the CDM roles of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor. The new pedestrian / cycle 80m bridge is to be designed and constructed across the existing A38 trunk road adjacent to the Deep Lane overbridge. This proposal will connect two major developments at the new town of Sherford and the Langage Business Park. The existing traffic signal junction on the south side of the A38 will be upgraded to add extra capacity and pedestrian / cycle signal phases.
