This contract is for the appointment of a single contractor for the delivery project for Land of Lead and Silver.\r \r This Project includes the consolidation and repair works at eight priority structures being: Allen Smelt Mill and Silver Refinery (Northumberland); Allenheads Mine and Ore Works (Northumberland); Holmes Linn Lead Mine (Northumberland); Augill Lead Mine Smelting Mill (Cumbria); Nenthead Mine (Cumbria); Coldberry Lead Mine (County Durham) and Middlehopeshield Mine (County Durham). \r \r The requirements also include as set out within the tender the following as a minimum:\r \r • Access improvements at sites including Dow Gang Hush, Augill, Fletcheras Rake, Middle Level Greenlaws, and Coldberry, among others;\r • Heritage Skills training/visits for volunteers and the general public;\r • Be available for groups to talk about the work being undertaken;\r • Outside of the tender requirements for Themes and Outcomes Measures (TOM's) there is funding for 1 apprenticeship.\r \r Funding\r This Project is to be funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with match funding from Historic England.
