Description
The Authority wishes to appoint one, or more, training providers to deliver free PCV driver training through a skills bootcamp model. Driver shortages are impacting on the ability of bus operators and local transport authorities to develop the local public transport network. Whilst many operators have their own recruitment processes and driver training schools, the objective of the PCV skills bootcamp is to supplement this training provision and encourage additional candidates who are wanting to find employment, or those who want a career change. The following elements will be required. o The training provider will develop a modular training course, to be delivered in small groups, at regular intervals, which will support every candidate to gain the skills and licences required to drive a large pcv o The training provider will promote the PCV bootcamp to residents of the Central Bedfordshire, Luton, and Bedford council areas o The training provider will be responsible for the recruitment of trainees, using a range of methods in their recruitment processes, e.g. promotion at community events, targeted socia…
