Description
The works comprise the refurbishment and waterproofing of the existing sub-basement areas, including associated builders' works, drainage, mechanical, and electrical installations. The purpose of the project is to provide a fully tanked, dry, and serviceable environment suitable for long-term operational use within a high-security, heritage-listed building. The scope includes (but is not limited to): Careful strip-out and preparation of existing finishes to expose the underlying structure. Installation of a proprietary cavity drain and damp proof membrane system to walls and floors, complete with fixings, plugs, drainage channels, and connection to existing sump pits. Cleaning and re-commissioning of sump pits, including the supply and installation of new submersible sump pumps, float sensors, discharge pipework, and a new control panel interfaced with the Building Management System (BMS). Application of cementitious or resin-based tanking to identified areas, in accordance with manufacturer's data sheets and relevant British Standards (e.g. BS 8102:2022 - Protection of Below Ground Structures Against Water Ingress).
