PRINCIPAL DESIGNER – ROLE SPECIFICATION & PROJECT OVERVIEW Project Title: Gloucester Greyfriars Project Location: Eastgate Shopping Centre and Former Pavilion Bowling Green Appointment Period: December 2026 – April 2028 – Covering RIBA Sages 4-6 Client: Gloucester City Council Total Project Funding: £11 million Levelling-Up Fund + Council / partner contributions Cultural Hub Construction Budget - £6 million Former Pavilion Green Construction Budget - £250,000 SECTION 1 – ROLE PURPOSE, OBJECTIVES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Effective handover from previous principal designer (RIBA 0-3) to new principal designer, i.e. this role • Strongly align with RIBA Standard Architectural Contract • Ensure effective design coordination between the design team and principal contractor • Maintain alignment with the Project Manager, Levelling-Up Fund programme, outputs and reporting requirements (usually once per month Design Team Meeting).
