Description

The overarching aim of the service is to support families with at least one child under 5 to enable children to have the best start in life. The service currently recruits and trains volunteers, who are typically parents themselves, to support families in need of extra help. Packages of support are tailored to meet the needs of each family individually and volunteers are 'matched' with their families to ensure they receive the right support. Typically, each volunteer will provide regular weekly sessions of up to 2 hours per session. Volunteers stay with the family for an agreed amount of time which is on some occasions up to a year in length. This is to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved. This questionnaire is part of a soft market testing exercise to inform potential commissioning arrangements and procurement of a 0 - 5 home support service in the borough. Responses from this questionnaire will be considered in the redesign of the service and the refinement of the service specification as well as the terms and conditions of the contract.
