Description
De scope van de opdracht omvat de aanschaf van een preklinisch SPECT camera systeem voor medische beeldvorming van bepaalde medische isotopen. Medische beeldvorming worden onderverdeeld in modaliteiten waarmee anatomie of functie kan worden bestudeerd. Veranderingen in morfologie kunnen worden bestudeerd met Computed Tomografie (CT) en Magnetische Resonantie Imaging (MRI). Biochemische processen kunnen worden bestudeerd in kleine diermodellen door gebruik te maken van functionele beeldvorming. Deze modaliteiten zijn Single-Photon Emissie Tomografie (SPECT), Positron Emissie Tomografie (PET), en optische beeldvorming. Waar vooral SPECT en PET beiden worden gebruikt voor beeldvorming, laat SPECT ook toe om therapeutische toepassingen te ondersteunen. We wensen nu onze faciliteiten uit te breiden met een SPECT toestel. Omdat moleculaire beeldvorming met SPECT complementair moet zijn met alle andere toepassingen binnen het UMCG, het beeldvormen van meerdere isotopen tegelijk, en kruis-validatie met andere technieken zoals PET, CT, en optische beeldvorming erg belangrijk zijn, stellen we als eis een SPECT toestel dat, ten minste, moet uitbreidbaar zijn met deze andere modaliteiten.
