Description
Binnen een 2+2 promotietraject, een samenwerking tussen het UMCG, ICON en de RUG, zijn geavanceerde LC-MS/MS-methoden ontwikkeld voor de analyse van klinisch relevante biomarkers, waaronder groeihormoon en sex hormoon bindend globuline (SHBG). Deze methoden maken gebruik van een nano- tot microflow-vloeistofchromatografiesysteem in combinatie met een zeer gevoelige tandem massaspectrometer van de firma Waters. De techniek die hierbij is toegepast biedt verschillende belangrijke voordelen: - Hoge gevoeligheid: Door het gebruik van nano- en microflowtechnologie is een significant lagere detectielimiet mogelijk dan bij conventionele systemen, wat essentieel is voor het betrouwbaar meten van lage concentraties hormonen in complexe matrices. - Verbeterde robuustheid: De specifieke combinatie van apparatuur en methode resulteert in een stabiele en reproduceerbare analyse, noodzakelijk voor routinematige toepassing in een klinisch diagnostisch laboratorium. - Lager monstervolume: Door de hoge efficiëntie van het systeem is minder serum of plasma nodig, wat patiëntvriendelijker is, met name bij kwetsbare populaties zoals kinderen. - Bewezen compatibiliteit: De reeds ontwikkelde en gevalid…
